SuperLab Pro Software Development Kit

The SuperLab Software Development Kit (SDK) gives users with programming skills the power to take advantage of SuperLab Pro's modular design by making it possible to develop custom plug-in modules. The following types of plug-in modules may be developed:

  • Event modules, to develop custom stimuli, take advantage of a particular video card model, interface to data acquisition systems, or other custom needs.
  • Input modules, to take advantage of a particular i/o card, response box, eye tracker, or other equipment.
  • Timing modules, to write your own software- or hardware-based timer.

The SDK is currently available for SuperLab Pro for Windows only. Developing a custom module requires writing a Windows Dynamic Link Library (DLL). You can build DLLs using most compilers, including C, Pascal, and BASIC. The documentation was written for C language but is otherwise compiler-independent.

Downloading the SDK

The SDK consists of online documentation and sample event and input DLLs. As of this writing, it is not complete. But we are working on filling the gaps and will post the latest version on this site when it becomes available.

The latest version of the SDK is 1.06, last updated on July 20, 1998. If you already have the SDK and want to check if you have the latest version, open the SuperLab SDK documentation, click on the Copyright link at the bottom. The Copyright page contains the version information at the bottom.
